SC, ST, OBC & Minority Cell

OBJECTIVES:
According to the UGC Guidelines of 1998, following are the objectives of the Committee is as
follows
i. Circulate GOI and Commission’s decisions and to collect regularly, on an annual
basis, information regarding course-wise admissions to candidates belonging to the
Scheduled Castes in the College.
ii. Analyze information on admissions; education, training and employment of SC, ST,
OBC and Minority Cell prepare reports for transmission to the Ministry of Human
Resource.
iii. Function as a Grievances Redressed Cell for the grievances of SC, ST, OBC and
Minority students and employees and render them necessary help in solving their
academic as well as administrative problems.
iv. To promote higher education among these two communities suffering economic,
social and educational deprivations.
v. SC, ST, OBC and Minority Cell have been created in the college to resolve all the
affairs and problems related to the SC/ST Students of the college.
Following are the important work under SC/ST Cell:

1. All affairs related to SC, ST, OBC and Minority students.
2. To aware the SC, ST, OBC and Minority students regarding various scholarships
   program of State Government and UGC.
3. To take such follow up measures for achieving the objectives and targets laid
   down for the purpose by the Government of India and the UGC.
   Functions:
    To bring in notice to students belonging to the other backward Classes the orders
   and other circulars issued by the Savitribai Phule Pune University/ Government
   of India and UGC.
    To circulate the orders and other circulars issued by Government of India,
   Government of Maharashtra and University Grants Commission regarding
   scholarships for students, appointments and promotion of teaching and nonteaching posts.
    To organize and monitor the working of the remedial Coaching Scheme in the
   University for OBC students, including Minorities students.
    To deal with representations received from OBC and Minorities Candidates
   regarding their admission, Scholarships, Recruitment, Promotion and other
   similar matters in the College.
    To function as a Grievances Redress Cell for OBC students and staff including
   Minorities students and employees of the college and render them necessary help
   in solving their academic, research as well as administrative problems.
    Any other works assigned by the University from time to promote higher
   education among OBC students and staff.
